Natural Setting

Most commonly, our patrons are drawn to the mountains of North Carolina because of the raw, natural beauty. Encounter all this beauty within the Milima Ranch property through our 8 mile network of hiking trails. Ascending from 3200 feet to 4200 feet, these trails offer views of mountain streams, rare plants and a diverse wildlife population.

Milima Ranch is a destination of 4 seasons. The winter offers exceptional snow days revealing the backbone of the land which lays hidden in the growing season. The spring, summer and fall months present an ever changing canvas of the mountains and the wildflowers are a sight to be seen. A special treat starting in September is the ripening of the apple trees that are scattered throughout the 400 acres, followed shortly after by the fiery fall leaf season.

I have had the occasion the know Milima Ranch through three seasons! (I have yet to make spring.) Imagine making Milima your 4 season getaway!! The summers are filled with warm, blue-sky days and cool nights; the fall’s autumnal colors provide the color play one believes in for the season; and the snows of winter amaze one with the pristine, all-to-ones-self landscapes. You can create memorable days with friends and love ones at Milima Ranch…. sharing great meals from the beautiful kitchen where there is room for everyone to help or one can work alone and still be in the “thick” of it; sleeping without a care through the peaceful nights in plush, cozy beds and linens; exercising up the mountain trails or languorously taking in the mercurial views from the deck. And, if you like to shop, Waynesville is a pretty cute NC mountain town with some good restaurant options and there is always Asheville or Chattanooga, TN. – Erin Y.

This is an amazing house on an amazing piece of property. My husband and I and our two kids (7,9) spent true family time in this beautiful oasis. There are cows and goats on the drive in, which the kids loved and plenty of green space for the kids to run around. We went into Asheville and Waynesville daily. We were able to go skiing and horseback riding and to the Cherokee Indian Reservation. We did plenty of hiking, marshmallow roasting, and movie watching. This is the perfect house to just get away and enjoy your family.

We traveled to this pristine getaway to escape the regularities of our day to day life. Upon our arrival we were engulfed in a fairytale of adventure. From hiking to skiing at a quaint mountain village and discovering all the individual characteristics of a gorgeous mountainside. The views were spectacular!!! The trails were a favorite for the whole family!! The cabin is one of a kind!! Much thought went in to every detail. Spacious for all to find their nesting place. My daughter particularly loved the porch which overlooks a stream with water rushing and birds chirping. My boys loved the Xbox after a day of skiing, hiking and playing in the snow. I enjoyed the couch, curled up in front of the fire with a good book while my husband enjoyed the gourmet kitchen after a great shop at an organic whole food grocer. Waynesville is only 12 miles away with quaint shops and great restaurants! Asheville a bit further has everything to offer including the incredible Biltmore Estate. I would highly recommend that you visit this cabin retreat. We will definitely revisit this site in the future. It’s a favorite! – Amy and Mike A.
